Meet John!

 Hi, I’m John, founder of K9 Mindset Dog Psychology Training and Dog Behaviorist/Coach.

As a Dog Behavior Coach, I help owners better understand their dogs by focusing on the factors that drive behavior—energy, state of mind, body language, and instincts. My goal is to help owners see beyond the behavior itself and understand why it’s happening in the first place.

I completed Cesar Millan’s “Training Cesar’s Way” Fundamentals Workshop in Santa Clarita, California, where I further developed my understanding of dog psychology, behavior, and rehabilitation. I continue to expand my knowledge through hands-on experience, ongoing education, and working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments.

My approach incorporates a variety of evidence-based principles, continuing education, and practical experience in canine behavior, communication, learning theory, and psychology. Every dog is an individual, so l use the techniques and strategies that are most appropriate for the dog in front of me.

Through behavioral assessments and personalized coaching, I work with owners to address challenges such as reactivity, anxiety, excessive barking, leash pulling, resource guarding, and household boundaries. By creating structure, building trust, and improving communication, we can help dogs become calmer, more balanced, and more confident.
